Task board and waves

Task board

The task board shows the warehouse's tasks in columns by status: Pool, Assigned, In progress, With exceptions and Done today. You can search by task no, document or customer, choose a person from the All assignees list, and filter work left over from the previous day with the Left from yesterday chip. Running count plans are listed below the board.

The task detail shows the lines in stop order, the events (who started, confirmed or reported a shortage, and when) and the reservations. The timeline also shows a shortage's remainder taken from another shelf ("Taken from another shelf", old and new shelf, quantity, lot), a wrong shelf scan (expected and scanned shelf), the suggested or other shelf chosen in a putaway, and a task taken over by the manager. On a task that is not in progress, the administrator can:

  • Assign: choose a person, or put it in the Pool (assign to no one). The list shows only people who can carry out that task type.
  • Change priority: Urgent, High, Normal or Low.
  • Cancel: with an optional reason.

Picking task from orders

The administrator marks orders on the Shipping page and clicks Create task (or Create task from orders on the board). The Create picking task window previews the route stops; you choose the priority, the person in charge, an optional due time, the shelf order (FIFO/LIFO) and the lot order. With Create task, the task goes to the pool or to the chosen person.

Waves

A wave plans many orders together and releases them (administrator only). Picking methods: Single (each order a separate task), Batch (the same product is picked for all orders together, then split into the orders) and Cluster (each position on the picking cart stands for one order; the picker picks several orders in one round into separate positions). For a cluster wave you also choose the number of positions on the cart.

Creating a wave

  1. Click Create wave.
  2. In the Filter step, filter the orders: due-date window, customers, priority; choose the method and the limits (maximum orders, maximum lines per task, splitting tasks).
  3. Preview: the estimated walk, estimated time, short lines and the faces that need replenishment appear. Change the selection and click Recalculate with selection.
  4. Create draft. In the wave's detail, Release opens the tasks to the operators; Cancel wave drops it.

Templates

You keep the filters and methods you use often on the Templates tab: New template, Edit, Delete, Wave from this (wave from this template).
